Karjat to Bhimashankar

Karjat-Bhimashankar Trek:
It is a wonderful and adventurous trek.
We planed this trek from pune. The first step is Karjat Station, Singhgad Express at 6.10 am is available from pune station.
We reached to Kajat at 8.10 am. But the actual trek starting from Kandas, so we need to travel about 40km from Karjat.

The bus is not frequently available. Six seater is so costly they asked 400Rs for Karjat to Khandas. So we traveled step by step. We had walk for 10min to amrai. There is an six seater station. Basically two villages’ kadav and Kashele in between karjat to khandas. So first we traveled to kadav then changed the six seater and then traveled to Kashele again we changed the six seater and then we traveled to Khandas.
Khandas is an small village and it is a base of this trek.

There are 2 ways to go, basically the Ganesh route and Shidi(ladder) route once you reach the base village of Khandas near karjat. The Shidi route should be avoided in rainy season. And in case you do not have experienced trekkers or equipments with you.
We choose Ganesh route, it is a long route but it is beautiful and adventurous.
it took 3-3.30 hrs but we are enjoyed the trek, it took us almost 6 to 7 hrs. we started around 11am form khandas.

We had an beautiful and dangerous experiences in this trek. My advice to all, please do not try to create any adventure because it has already having an adventure and thrilling patches. The trek is so long and the humidity is so high so take lots of water. In mid of trek there are some water falls so you can take water.

In rainy season the rocks are waited and little slippery so be careful while crossing over the rock.

We stay at Bhimashankar, in hotel, the rooms are very costly but we found the hall which is so cheap only 50Rs per head.
After sunset, its just the fog that u can see ... if u walk on a road, u cant see the person walking next to u & also a vehicle that is coming from front…..

Over all, the entire trek is awesome, beautiful an adventurous……..
I can assure that u will love the greenery & environment.... It’s so good that u will not feel fatigued even if u treks for 8 hrs...
